Gentrification (Bottom Placement) tote bag

Another of Banksy's offerings from his 2018 trip to New York - this piece was left in the Midwood area of Brooklyn in March and, as always, stirred up quite commotion. Similar to the Rat Race Clock artwork he left in the Chelsea area of NY, this one seems to be another intervention regarding capitalism, but in a much more blunt manner.

The artwork shows the silhoettes of a suited worker in a hard-hat, using a red line graph to whip the young, elderly, and vulnerable off of the land on which they stand - to us this represents the inevitable gentrification of poor NYC areas.

We've printed it here on our Tote Bag.
