This Banksy Grim Reaper Rowing Boat hoodie shows Death himself, The Grim Reaper rowing a boat. This Banksy stencil graffiti can be found on the side of the Thekla nightclub and music venue, which is housed inside an old cargo ship moored in the Mud Dock area of Bristol's Floating Harbour, England.
Originally, Banksy had painted his name on the side of the Thekla and made his getaway in a rowing boat, but Bristol City Council removed the tag, against the wishes of the boat's owners, so in retaliation, Banksy returned and painted the famous Grim Reaper Rowing Boat piece.
When the Thekla was refit and repainted in 2006, they deliberately left the rectangular area around the Grim Reaper Rowing Boat piece untouched, so that today the piece occupies a dark grey patch on the otherwise green hull. Around it, there are now a number of different coloured patches where the paintwork has been retouched to cover up other tags that have been left around the Banksy piece.
