Umbrella Girl Nola hoodie

The Banksy Umbrella Girl Nola, upon which this Umbrella Girl Nola hoodie is based, first appeared on the third anniversary of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans.

The Umbrella Girl Nola hoody design shows a girl holding an umbrella, but instead of the umbrella keeping her dry it is in fact raining on her. The girl is holding out one arm to feel whether it is raining outside the reach of the umbrella.

The artwork has been interpreted as a comment on the New Orleans flood defences; that even though the storm had passed and the weather was dry, the defences didn’t stand up to the increasing flood waters.
